Research Director - Head of Consumer Insights

The head of Consumer Insights in Sagaci Research is the expert and focal point to turn to in all consumer insights related activities. S/He draws the consumer insights strategy within Sagaci Research as well as achieve planned growth of the Business Unit within Sagaci Research strategic business plan

Main Roles

  • Consumer Insights Reference
    • Responsible for developing Sagaci Research Consumer Insights methodologies
    • Manage or/and act as reference check for all Consumer Insights projects or activities
    • Directly manage team of analysts working on Consumer Insights related projects
    • Develop Sagaci Research team skills in Consumer Insights
    • Ensure that Sagaci Research is always up-to-date on all topics, methodologies, techniques, tools related to Consumer Insights
    • Manage selected client relationships and act as the central point of contact for selected key account
  • Business Development
    • Responsible for creating awareness among potential clients on Consumer Insights activities and products/services
    • Work closely with Sales team to identify potential clients and how to approach them
    • Work closely with countries managers to define and materialize business opportunities related to Consumer Insights
    • Responsible proposals writing and reviewing
    • Work closely with Marketing Sales Directors to define BU growth strategy and plan.
  • Products Development
    • Develop and update BU products and services
    • Work with Marketing Director to fine tune methodologies and related brochures
    • Capitalize on markets and clients understanding to develop new products for the BU


  • At least 10 years of experience in quantitative market research, either for an agency or for a corporate client in the FMCG sector
  • Strong cosmetic/beauty sector knowledge/expertise
  • Strong research and strategic analysis skills
  • Entrepreneurial drive
  • Good knowledge of the African consumer and its potential
  • Leadership capabilities (Energize & Engage, Enable Results Through Others, Influence with Integrity, Courage)
  • Ability to work across multiple markets in Africa
  • Strong work ethic, self-starter, integrity and honesty
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • High learning agility
  • Open to work with people from different cultural backgrounds
  • English language is a must and French language is a strong addition
