We are looking for a data engineer to join our IT infrastructure team, based in Barcelona.
Sagaci Research is the leading independent market research for the African markets.
We strive to be a business challenger of traditional methodologies, using technology from data collection to business use.
Our Engineering team is composed of a small group of specialists developers under the guidance of a very experienced multi technology leader.
We run a large infrastructure in data collection across over 30 countries, with over 200.000 members generating data from surveys and app events. Our android app has over 1M downloads and 4plus star rating on PlayStore.
The role of the data engineer will be to improve our core database systems and implement all tools related to data access.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement changes to the database model.
- Create tools for users to access the data: APIs for external data access and other services and systems.
To apply, we expect candidates to have the following capabilities:
- Strong SQL knowledge. Oracle PL/SQL is highly valued but not required.
- Experience in designing database models.
- Experience in developing REST APIs
- Knowledge of Python and the Pandas library.

The position is based in Barcelona, Spain.
